Hardware Catalog¶
Learn how to request and access a pre-release instance.
Caution
Preview Catalog instances have an expiration date. Ensure you back up and save all instance data before the expiration date.
Prerequisites¶

View Preview Catalog¶

Visit the Intel® Software Development Platform console home page.

Click the Preview > Preview Catalog from the menu at left.

In the Preview Catalog tab, select an instance from the options.
Request a Preview Instance¶
Tip
For all Linux* Operating Systems, Jupyterlab* is launched via One-Click. For all Windows* operating systems, remote desktop (RDP) is launched.

Use the form to Request a Preview Instance.

Follow the onscreen instructions and fill out all required fields.
Note
Required fields show an asterisk ‘*’ character.

Select the Instance type.
Note
Depending on which Instance type you choose, Windows* OS or Linux* OS launches in your browser.

Add the secondary owner email address (optional).

The secondary owners can access the instance and has the same capabilities as the requestor (instance owner).

Secondary owner email address must have an Intel® Software Development Platform account and must have the same email domain as the requestor.

Upon request approval, the secondary owner will receive an email notification.

The instance owner can remove or change the secondary owner after the instance is created.

Add additional users’ email addresses (optional).
-
Additional users can only access the instance and do not have instance edit capabilities as instance owners.

Addditional users’ emails must be registered with Intel® Software Development Platform and must have the same email domain as the requestor.

Upon approval of the request, the additional users will receive an email notification.

Preview instances support 18 additional users maximum. Enter their emails sepparated by commas in the field.

The instance owners can remove or change the additional users after the instance is created.

Under Request Information, select your preferences for Use case and Duration.

For Deployment details, type in a description (required).

SSH Public Keys (optional).
-
Use this option, if you want SSH access to your instance.

If no SSH key is added to the request, you can still access the instance via the One-Click method.

Up to 20 SSH public keys can be added to an instance.

The instance owners can remove or change the public keys after the instance is created.

Termination Protection (optional).
-
When selected, the instance will not be terminated until the protection is disabled from the edit instance screen.

This option is useful to prevent accidental termination of the instance.

Click Request Instance button.
Note
Upon successful completion of the request, you are shown Preview Instances.
Await Request Notification¶
After requesting an instance, you’ll receive an email in 2-3 business days with request status.
Important

If your request is approved, log into your account.

From the left side menu, navigate to Preview –> Preview Instances.

View the table in the Preview Instances tab.

Click on your approved instance.

Continue.
Choose Method to Connect¶
Choose a method to connect to a preview instance:
Tip
You must check SSH Keys when creating an instance for SSH option.
Connect via One-Click¶
Connect to a preview instance using One-Click connection. Your instance launches in a browser.
Note
You are not required to add an SSH key using this method.
Click Request.

Launch instance¶

Navigate to Preview Instances tab.

Wait until your instance State shows Ready.

Click on the instance name. Then choose a method to access.

Click Connect for One-Click access.

This action launches your preview instance in a browser. See also the note regarding operating system.

In Details tab, click on How to Connect via SSH. Follow instructions.

File Transfer Methods¶
Choose your operating system and follow commands for upload/download, or file transfers.

To upload, select the Upload Files` icon in the upper left. Follow instructions.

To download, right-click on the file. In the pop-up menu, select Download

To upload/download files, select CTRL+ALT+SHIFT`

Select “Devices” in the dialog menu.

Click Upload Files to upload.

To download a file, double-click it and follow the dialog.
